How to hem curtains with iron on tape. Hold the iron in place for at least five seconds to allow the tape to melt. Curtains look best when they’re hung as close to the ceiling as possible and as wide as possible. Alternately, you can just measure and make markings with a disappearing ink fabric pen and then fold up and iron a crease.

It depends on your windows. With the other hand, press the iron on top of the fabric firmly. Let the curtain cool before hanging.

Fold the material to the hem allowance and press first. Iron in small sections, two to three seconds per section. Determine how much you need to cut off the bottom of the curtains.

Take it from an amateur seamstress! Then, i pushed the curtains flat on the floor and smoothed the excess in front. Cut a length of tape slightly longer than the tear and iron it onto the underside of the tear.

I prefer sewing when hemming curtains so that i can wash my curtains as much as i want. First, i pulled the curtains pretty tightly (but not so tight that i stretched them or pulled the rod). Iron this into place and get ready to do the other side of the hem.

Iron on tape works and holds well. Get it tomorrow, mar 7. Then stick the strip of tape across, peel off the backing, and fold your fabric up creating a hem.

With the curtain on a flat surface and the measurements double checked. Just fold up the hem, slip the ironing tape between hem and curtain, use iron and you’re all set to rehang once it cools. You can cut the extra fabric off, but it isn’t necessary and will make the project take longer.

Cut hem tape slightly shorter than the width of the side hem. Apply your tape to a scrap piece of material. Open the hem flap and while holding the tape in place with one hand, run your iron along the tape.

After that is done, apply your tape to one side of the hem first. Use your measuring tape to pin the bottom of the curtains at the length you plan to shorten. For heavier fabrics you can use two strips, side by side.

Now place a hot iron above the hem for a few seconds. Fold the bottom of your pants along the marked line, pressing it down over the tape with one hand. A lightly dampened cloth was put on top of the material to help the tape adhere when ironing.

Do not use fabric softener, so that the tape adheres to the material better. Makes it easy to hem fabrics without sewing.
